December 2020 security update rolling out for Huawei Nova 4e

Huawei has started releasing the latest security update for Huawei Nova 4e smartphones. This update installs the security patch released in December 2020 that improves system security.

At present the Nova 4e working on EMUI 10 version. However, it is not eligible to get EMUI 10.1 and above major upgrades, but the company is continuously sending monthly security updates for the Nova 4e users for improved system security.

On the other hand, Huawei Nova 4e is the second smartphone, which is receiving the latest December 2020 security patch for further security improvements.

Changelog: 

Version: Huawei Nova 4e users getting EMUI 10.0 version 10.0.0.166 updating from 10.0.0.165.

Security: Installs the latest security patch released in December 2020 that fixes 1 critical and 11 high levels of CVE’s for improved system security.

UPDATE INSTRUCTION:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.

POINTS TO KNOW BEFORE UPDATE:

  1. Currently, this update is rolling out in China.
  2. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  3. The update will not erase any data.
